If you find yourself wandering the picturesque streets of Greystones, Co. Wicklow, a stop at Caffe Delle Stelle is an absolute must. Nestled at 39 Church Rd, this charming cafe not only offers delightful homemade Italian fare but also serves as a beloved local character, thanks to its owner who brings a unique charm to the dining experience.

Upon entering Caffe Delle Stelle, guests are greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that’s punctuated by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The decor reflects a casual yet cozy vibe, making it the perfect spot for a casual catch-up with friends or a quick bite while exploring the area. The owner, often described as a delightful and grumpy character, adds a touch of humor to the experience. His dry wit and engaging banter provide a memorable backdrop to an otherwise ordinary cafe visit. As one reviewer, Michael Hayden succinctly puts it, it's a "deliberate Fawlty Towers experience" that you won't want to miss!

The cafe specializes in simple yet mouth-watering Italian dishes that echo the heart of home-cooked comfort food. One standout offering is their breakfast, described by Thomas Dowling as "a nice sized breakfast cooked to order at a reasonable price." It's not just the taste that impresses; the generous portion sizes ensure that you leave feeling satisfied. Customers rave about the coffee, noted as "the best in Greystones," and the homemade treats, including a deliciously moist carrot cake, which Aisling Mulligan found exceeded her expectations in value and flavor. At just €12.50 for 3 coffees and a slice of cake, you'll be hard-pressed to find better value anywhere in town!

What sets Caffe Delle Stelle apart is its soul. Reviewers consistently mention the owner's engaging style, whether it’s his amusing interactions with patrons or his efforts to remind younger guests to put their phones away during meals—a sentiment that resonates with many customers seeking a more connected dining experience. Lori attests to the "brilliant service" and friendly staff, which complements the owner’s idiosyncratic approach, creating a truly delightful experience that feels personal and genuine.

Whether you're looking for a quick coffee fix or a leisurely breakfast, Caffe Delle Stelle offers not just food, but an experience steeped in local character. Prepare to laugh, enjoy some great homemade Italian cuisine, and indulge in the best coffee this charming seaside town has to offer. Don’t miss your chance to immerse yourself in this unique locale—the spirited owner and delightful food are waiting for you!

Make sure the owner wants you barred by the time you leave - it is a deliberate Fawlty towers experience, not to be missed - if in Greystones!!!

Terrific value, food simple homemade Italian, and the best coffee in Greystones, but the best thing about the place is the owner, might seem grumpy, but he is a character which is something that is missing in retail nowadays. Don't expect a false " have a nice day !"

Fantastic value for money. Only 12.50 for 3 coffees and a carrot cake. The coffee itself was very nice and the carrot cake was delicious and moist. The owner has an extremely dry sense of humour. It was quite funny when I ordered the coffees and then I asked for one to be with soya. He has a picture inside the cafe of several drawings and their facial expressions, and he pointed to the grumpy face when someone orders a soy flat white .

What a great place, a nice sized breakfast cooked to order at a reasonable place. The owner is a real character, he told the children to put their phones away while they are eating and gave them a treat afterwards. The children thought he was great and so do my wife and I. Everything had become so “vanilla flavoured”, it’s nice to go somewhere with character. Still, there’s probably a certain type of person that prefers the generic experience so if that’s your thing maybe go somewhere else.

The food is delicious, the service is very nice and friendly, it has a great vibe and the prices are great. We also received a free sweet reward in the form of a caramel cookie, I love it. I recommend 10 out of 10!!
